Our First Praise

We are 3 days into our adoption journey and we already have a praise!! We can feel all your prayers and we thank you.

We are doing things a little different with our adoption. We have signed with a home study agency before we sign with our adoption agency. We already know who we are going to use for our adoption agency, but once we sign on with them we only have 90 days to get every thing done or we'll have to pay the registration fee again. I really don't want to pay the fee twice, so we decided to get the home study done first. The home study is the longest process, or at least I am told, of the whole adoption. I would LOVE to get everything done in 90 days, but I don't want to take a chance.

So, I have been busy making many appointments and getting lots of different things together. One of the many things is that Monte and I need physicals, so I called the doctor's office this afternoon. Since Monte is a new patient, they couldn't get him in until OCTOBER. We don't go to the doctors a lot (they still had my maiden name), but with our new insurance plan we need to go our primary care physician first. This is new for us and I am not too excited about it. So anyway, I was really bummed that he had to wait THAT long. I was getting ready to hang up the phone and the receptionist said "Wait, we've had a cancellation. Can he come in TOMORROW at 10a." Why yes he can! I was SO excited and immediately praised God and thanked him for such wonderful friends and family that are lifting us up in prayer!

Then this afternoon Monte got off of work early so we could go get finger printed, for our FBI background check. We were told to go to the police station, but once we got there they told us they couldn't help us and we had to go to the Sheriff's department. Keep in mind I talked with the same police station on Friday and they told me that could help me... crazy! So we rushed to the Sheriff's department with 10 minutes to spare. We got finger printed and got another background check done. I was so thankful we were able to get all that done today.

We have a lot of appointments this week, but we are cruising right along! I will continue to keep everyone updated.
