Ethiopia... here we come!!!

We are very excited to announce that we started the international adoption process yesterday!!! We are adopting from Ethiopia. This has been a long road for us and after 4 1/2 years we have officially started the process of bringing our babies/toddlers home and completing the Alexander family. Yes, you read that right, babies/toddlers, we are planning on adopting a sibling group.

We are not specifying gender and we are willing to take a child as old as 3 years. Since Josiah is 4, we do not want a child that is older than him. We are not wanting to mess up the family dynamics that are already in place.

As with all international adoptions, it is a long process. It will take us 4 months to get all our paperwork done. Then it'll take up to 8 months to get a referral for the children. After that, we'll have to wait up to 4 months before we (Monte and I) can travel to Ethiopia and get our children. Our prayer is that we'll have them back in the states before the end of 2009.

We would appreciate your prayers during this time. Please pray for the children that will end up being ours. There is a chance that they are already born and waiting for their forever family! Please pray that everything goes smooth and we get everything done in a timely fashion.

We will keep you updated on prayer requests and our progress. This blog will also be our adoption blog!

We are so excited to be sharing this amazing journey with you all!
