My weekend project

Monte bought me a stainless steel side-by-side water and ice in the door refrigerator in October last year. It is the first “nice” fridge I have ever had, and it is a scratch and dent. With three boys we didn’t want to get something too nice and have me crying in the fetal position if the boys got a scratch on it. We didn’t want to give them that temptation or set me up for an inevitable break down. Since then I have not let the boys put their magnetic letters or games on the fridge. I enjoy having a fridge with nothing on it. Can you tell I really like my fridge?

It got me thinking, what I could do so the boys could use their letters and magnetic games that they have. Well, did you know they have magnetic paint? I have wanted to do this since we got the fridge, but I just haven’t had the motivation or time. Well, this month my parents and Monte’s mom and step-dad are coming to visit and for me that is motivation!

So last Friday and Saturday I painted a half wall in the boys’ playroom with the magnetic paint. I think it came out really well and other than one of the cats getting curious and sticking her paw in the BLACK pant and then walking all over the upstairs, it was a smooth process.

I have been reading. Just not commenting recently- sorry.

That magnetic paint is too cool!! What a great idea and I'm sure that your boys LOVE it!!

Our walls are bumpy so it's kind of limiting that way.

Do you think your side-by-side fridge has as much space as the other kind?

Hi Monica

You are fine, I know you are busy! For some reason my blog does not allow anonymous comments, so I get lots of emails instead! :-)

You know, our old fridge was only 19sq ft (or however they measure them) and the one we have now is 26 sq ft. So I do see a difference in the fridge side, but the freezer side is A LOT smaller, but thankfully we have a freezer in the garage.
