I know I am suppose to be on blog vacation, but I needed to share this. Monte and I have decided to up our age to 4 years old. Currently we are either gender 0-3 years and now we will be either gender 0-4 years! I have already emailed our case manager (even though she is on vacation) and told her our news plans. We also asked if we had to do an addendum immediately or if we could just wait and see if we actually do get a 4 year old. Does anyone know?
Our homestudy agency (not adoption agency) requires us to have a 9 month age span between Josiah (our youngest child) and our oldest adopted child. Josiah is now 4 years and 8 months, so that is the main reason we have decided it is time to up our age.
To all you non adoptive readers. An addendum is a change in our homestudy. Since our homestudy states 0-3 years, that is the only age we are able to take out of Ethiopia. I am under the understanding it is not really a big deal to get done, but it does cost $325 to add the new information. That is the reason we would rather not get it done unless we actually do get that age.
Ok, I am on a break for real now! :)

I am really excited for you. You may want to ask if changing the homestudy will require a notification sent to USCIS. I changed my homestudy and USCIS had to receive a copy of the homestudy with the addendum. I believe they allow one free update/change before charging. However, Nisha's was filed under the I-600 and I know that you filed an I-8** so it may be different. Something to check into. I would guess you would want to go ahead and update the homestudy now, because it could cause delays in the processing once you get the referral, but that is just my guess. Anything you can do to prevent hassles or surprises later is worth the effort :) Just my 2 cents- every country and agency is different :)
I take breaks like you:). Wow, this is exciting news. Just another door opened up for a child to walk through into your great family. Have a great break.
Fun news!!!
p.s. the word verification for this post is hoochi. lol
We have been hoping and praying that you hear something soon! We waited 8 months and one day. Our referral was well worth the wait. Hang in there. I would wait to have your home study amended until you get a referral. I don't think that it is difficult to do. That was our plan anyway. Cass and Matt
I know that decision involved alot of prayer, thoughts, and discussion.
We're praying for you guys
You have a funny way of taking breaks, Tisha! That's probably why I like you so much :). I can just hear your enthusiasm oozing out of your post. How exciting!!!!
thanks so much for praying-you are the fourth person to tell me they couldn't sleep (and I was up a bunch myself-not really nervous, just restless) and so they prayed while they were up!! God must've needed extra warriors for that court appointment! I'm so grateful I have so many to call upon and I cannot WAIT to return the favor for you when it is your turn!!! praying it will be SOON!!
