We are part of a yahoo group with other families in Indiana that have adopted from Ethiopia. Last Saturday night 60 people from the group met at a local Ethiopian restaurant. It is local for us, but some traveled hours to be there. I have to admit that I am getting use to the food. I actually can say that I liked it this time!
It was a wonderful site to see so many Ethiopian toddlers running around (they were mostly toddler age). Most everyone either had a referral or already had their children home. We were the only family waiting for a referral and there was one family that was finishing up their dossier.
In my own selfish way it made me really want to get a referral. I just want to see my children's faces. When we were finishing up, Josiah looks at me and says "Mommy, I want our babies now!" He vocalized exactly what I was feeling inside! I love the fact that they are just as excited as Monte and I.
We will get our new monthly numbers this week. I would much rather have a referral, but I do realize that the wait could be longer because we are wanting siblings. Can you tell I am trying to work on my patience? :)

I see you have a Josiah and homeschool too! Looks like we started this adoption journey just two weeks after you! Fun! I pray that you will get your referrals soon!

That is so hard but sounds like fun...That sibling list is slow but will be sooo rewarding to get two when your time comes :) Praying we all hear good news this week :) kj
we used to live in indiana (muncie) and still consider ourselves hoosiers! it's fun to picture so many families who have or are adopting from ethiopia being together.
How fun!! That's great that you have such a large group of families. We have a yahoo group for SE Wisconsin families and 6 of us ladies met for lunch on Saturday at an Ethiopian restaurant. Can't say I like the food yet. lol. Although, I did try one thing that I liked.
That's a flat-out party ... that's awesome. Still praying for you guys!
Don't you just love how the internet can bring people together? What a great group of people to know already. I'm sure there will be a great celebration when you get your kids!
