"Since the past few months; shortage of formula has been one of the most devastating problems in Ethiopia. Due to the foreign currency issues, where Ethiopian currency deflation, importing foreign goods has become difficult for Ethiopia. Unfortunately, Ethiopia is no where to manufacturing products like, baby formulas, diapers, wipe, powdered mile…..so it imports from European and Arab countries. " -Almaz
Almaz is the director of All God Children International's (AGCI) orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. There is a immediate need for formula in this country and thankfully there is something that we can do to alleviate this issue. Our adoption agency, AGCI, feels the easiest way to get formula into Ethiopia is through families that are traveling to get their children.
Would you be able to help with this need?
There is a family that lives close to me (on the west side of Indianapolis) that is leaving January 10th to travel to Ethiopia. We need formula for ages 0-12 months, powder only. They can even be the single serve packets... any brand! I will need to get the formula to the family by January 7th, so they will have time to pack it.
If you live far away or would rather give monetary gifts, they are tax deductible. Just make sure you put in the memo line

I've never seen the single sized packs- do you know where they are sold? Would these by easier to travel with than big cans?
I used to get the single packs at Target. I am sure you can get them most anywhere. They are sold in a package of 16. What the traveling groups have been doing is paying for the extra baggage and bringing large plastic totes (taped well) and filling them with 50lbs worth of formula. Does that help??
