SURPRISE!

We went to Maine to spend 8 days with my parents. My grandfather is not having a funeral and his burial isn't until spring, but I wanted to be home. Not being near family is really starting to wear on me and my heart longs for the place that I will always call home. I am so thankful we homeschool and have the flexibility to pick up and go. So, we packed up the van and headed 1,100 miles east with everyone and the dog! It was a great trip and I am so glad we went. Thank you for all the prayers. I have truly felt them these last two weeks.

Last Thursday my princesses turned 4! Thursday was also that day we had to drive home. I felt like a heel that my girls would be strapped to their car seats for 18 hours on their special day. But we had no other choice.

Because my parents are awesome, they decided that we would celebrate the girls' special day while we were visiting. Monte had to leave on Monday to head back to Indiana, so we did it a few hours before he left on a jet plane.

Here are some pictures of the BIG surprise!

The girls are obsessed with the Disney princesses, so of course we knew we couldn't go wrong with this DQ ice cream cake. YUMMY!
The decorations...
Princess Hannah in total shock! She is still getting used to missing a tooth and her hands have been in her mouth a lot lately. Oh sickness, please stay away.
Princess Chloe was excited too, but she doesn't show it like our drama queen Hannah!
I am not sure what they were looking at in this picture, but I love their faces!
I seriously cannot imagine my life without my girls!
Happy 4th Birthday my beautiful princesses!

The girls are beautiful! It just dawned on me that you have double hair duty! YIKES! Think about it as more chances to have bonding moments. I do miss that with my son...

Sorry to hear about your Gramps. Distance is hard. Sounds like the Birthday Surprise was definitely needed.
HUGS to you.
Will you travel back east this summer?
Let's try to connect.

I like the last picture of the girls! Knowing you, I figured you did something incredible for the birthday celebration. You are really great about celebrating birthdays.

I still want to hear about more details from your trip. . . maybe Thursday?
