Lots going on...

I can't even begin to explain how busy we have been the last few weeks! I actually really enjoy getting out of the house and being the taxi mom. The girls are at the age where they can miss a nap a time or two and it isn't a big deal.

Here are some things we have been up to...

We started meeting with our homeschool co-op this month. We have been in this group for four years and I can't imagine homeschooling without being involved in one. They have encouragement me every step of the way! We meet once a week for six weeks each semester. They also offer field trips and this fall we are doing a lot of them. Here are the kids on the first day of co-op. Hannah looks like she is in pain... not sure what is going on there, but trust me, it was the best picture!

Isaac has been playing soccer since July. I don't have a lot of pictures, because I get too excited/nervous during the games and I can't stand looking behind the camera. This coming Saturday is his last game, it makes me sad! He has been playing since he was 3 years and we have grown to LOVE soccer!

John is playing flag football this fall. He is loving it! I am glad that we have found something that he really enjoys. He is adamant that he wants to play tackle next year. I am pretty sure my heart will not be able to handle that.

The boys are taking a weekly art class at a local private Christian High School and they have really learned a lot! I have no artistic ability so it is a good investment! I was really impressed when they walked out of class with these paintings.

The girls continue to take dance. They LOVE getting dressed up for class. I think that is their favorite part! They take dance from two teenager sisters that started their own dance studio in their home. They are amazing girls and hardly charge us anything! The money that they do bring in is helping them go to on a missions trip next summer.

Speaking of missions trips... I have some news! I am in the planning stages of going to Haiti next summer with visiting orphans. I AM SO EXCITED!! I will obviously keep you posted as I learn more!

I hope you all are having a great week!

Sounds like you're having lots of fun this year! Tackle is not that bad when the boys are still little. I watch the high school kids practicing after us and that's when I get nervous. eek! You can hear them hit from up in the stands and bodies go flying. But, Tate is loving it and so are we.

Wow- FUN!!!!

Since we live sooo far away from real civilization we can't really go to our "local" homeschool co-op, but I would LOVE to.

Love the kids pics. :)

So glad you are going strong and fast up there! I love the boys art and I agree with Missy, they look like African art! Gibson played tackle football from the first moment he could (kind of a way of life in small town Texas) and LOVED it from the start and the only time he was ever hurt was playing flag football - he broke his finger (he admitted later that they were playing flag/tackle football this happened last year horsing around). So excited to hear more about your mission trip!! I'm envious but have to save our money for two trips to Africa!!! Love ya!

Lane has played tackle football since he was in the first grade. I love to watch him! He is one of the smallest on the team, and he can take down any of the big boys. Sometimes the sound of him hitting someone makes me sick to my stomach, but I can deal with that. Tackle football really teaches the boys team work and how to be tough, which are both important.
