Seriously... it is a lot of work to pack for 7 people going on vacation. It has consumed most of my week minus school time. Of course my anal tendencies come into play and the house also has to be spotless when we leave. Please tell me I am not alone!
We are going to be staying in a timeshare that has a full kitchen. Since we have the whole gluten free thing going on right now, we are going to cook most of our meals there. I am so thankful for the kitchen because it is so hard to eat out when you are dealing with a gluten free diet.
We are staying right on the beach (Atlantic side), but it is suppose to be cold and rainy. Oh well... we will be together and will make the most of it. I have packed some fun inside things to do (games & puzzles).
While I have been packing I have been thinking a lot about last July when I was packing for Ethiopia. There is nothing like packing for travel to a 3rd world country. You HAVE to make a list and check it 15 times, because there are no modern conveniences and no Walmart around the corner. I remember packing and thinking I really had no clue what to pack for the girls. They were strangers. I didn't know what theirs likes and dislikes are. I knew NOTHING. I packed what I thought an average toddler would like and it did work out, but it was hard.
This time around it is so different! Yes, we will have a Walmart around the corner, but this time I know the girls. I know who they are and what they like. I am excited to see them experience the ocean and Disney World for the first time!
So many fun memories will be made...

i am so excited for you! the beach AND disney? a winning combination! the packing is always a pain, but i know it will be such a treasure for you all. can't wait to see pictures!
i WANT my house to be clean before we leave, but it rarely is. i long to be more anal like that. it makes the return home so much smoother.
Have a WONDERFUL time!!!!! It is exciting!!!! Yep- packing for a large family- I am a list person!!! I start my list about a week in advance, then pack about 2 days to a day before because we still have to do laundry. I try to pack as much as we can so while away- we don't have to do as much laundry. he he he
I love being somewhere -where you can cook- saves money so you can splurge on other things! Hey- it's a bright side :)
And yes- we like our home clean before we leave too- that way when you come home- it feels great to be back instead of thinking- this place is a pig sty!!!
When do you leave... are we going to miss you at the Ethiopian family get together again!? One of these days we will work it out! Have a wonderful time. Vacations rock!

You were so missed on Thursday :)My kids kept waiting at the door and then turned their heads whenever anybody new walked into the room! Hope you have a great time on vactaion. If anyone deserved it, you do!
YUP, gotta have a clean house when we leave. It gets so chaotic unloading the van and piling the laundry that if it were a mess, then I'd be even more completely overwhelmed when I got home and NEED TO GO ON VACATION AGAIN! hee hee. HAVE A BLAST! Feeling jealous! (We also try to dine in...too expensive otherwise!)
