Florida, Part I

I am still trying to get reorganized at home, but I really wanted to share our trip with you. We had an amazing time and are already planning on returning next year.
I didn't realize it was the start of a lot of spring breaks, so some places were VERY crowded (like Disney and downtown Disney), but the facility we stayed at had a light crowd and the location was breathtaking.
This was our first beach vacation as a family. I wish it was about 20 degrees warmer, the ocean was FREEZING, but it didn't bother the kids at all. Well, Hannah could only take so much, but the others loved it and could of stayed until hypothermia set it.
Now... onto the pictures.
We stopped at St. Augustine on our way to our timeshare. We are learning about early American history in school right now, so it was wonderful to stop and see a place first hand that we have talked about.

The boys LOVED it. Here they are with some cannons that were found off the coast.

They had a demonstration of how much work it was to use a gun and fight a long time ago.

Palm trees make me happy!

The Mission of Nombre de dois. The site were the first Europeans landed in America.

Vacation ROCKS!

The view from our room

The (thankfully) heated pool and hot tub. Hannah and I were in the hot tub a lot!

The kiddos enjoying the ocean!

Daddy and his girls...

We had dolphins swimming near our hotel the whole week. I have never witnessed dolphins in the wild before and it was an amazing thing to watch.

One morning one of them was very close to the shore, as you can see. Isaac and I ran out to try to get a good picture of it, but it never put it's whole head out of the water.

Part II will include downtown Disney, the Magic Kingdom and chocolate. Stay Tuned!

Great pictures. We leave for St. Augustine next week. I'm sure our drive from Michigan will be interesting but hopefully the week in Florida will be worth it:)

That sounds like quite the vacation! I mean, really, who gets to swim with dolphins? Sounds like a wonderful memory for the kiddos. Glad you could get away and recharge your batteries.
