The Winter Blues, already?

Winter is upon us here in Indiana. I always have a hard time with winter. No, I do not like the cold at all, but I also have a hard time thinking of fun things to do with the kids. I have no desire to leave my house when it dips below 40 degrees, but I know the kids need to get out.
I knew on Thursday that it was time to get out of the house. After school we loaded up and headed to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. We all love it there! If you are ever in the Indianapolis area... first you need to let me know so we can get together, but second you need to check out the museum. It is well worth the money and you could spend a full day there!
We usually go in the afternoon so that the school groups are on their way out, but when I pulled into the parking garage there were NO school buses or big vans. That means I hit the jackpot and it was going to be a great day at the museum with no crowds.
This is the first time the girls have gone. I have said this before, but I love watching them take it all in and get excited about the little things. They ask about everything they see. My boys never acted like this, because they were exposed to so much since birth. This is one of the benefits of adopting toddlers. I just can't get enough of their love of life. It is such a blessing to me!
Here are the kids enjoying the new Egypt exhibit. They are participating in an instrument demonstration, like they would play in Egypt.

The carousel was the girls' favorite. We did it twice and they asked to go again, but I had reached my limit for how many times I should go around in circles in one day before I get too dizzy to walk. Take me on any roller coaster known to man, but please don't make me go around in circles. Hannah is looking up in this picture. They have little light bulbs on the ceiling to make it look like stars and she was so fascinated by that!

This is the preschool area. They have a huge water and sand table and other preschool things. The younger three had a blast!

The older two... not so much. They are not "allowed" to participate because they are over 5 years, but they were good sports and I did let them play in the sand a little bit since there wasn't a lot of people there.

The Alexander five at the Jolly Days exhibit...

OTHER IMPORTANT NEWS...
My baby boy lost his first tooth yesterday! It has been loose for over a week and his big one is growing in behind it, but he wouldn't touch it. Josiah had been feeling left out because his big brothers have been loosing teeth for over a year now. I am happy for him even though it makes sad to see him growing up so fast.

LOVE all the pictures and I too love learning about the twins and their love of life and experiences. It is so wonderful.

You should hook up with this adoptive family...they just posted about going to the children's museum in Indy. http://memeandmonkey.blogspot.com/2009/12/catching-up-with-some-cuties.html

I wish we lived closer so we could join you. My husband and I went to school at Valparaiso University in IN and I have to say I do not miss the winters at all. Digging my car out of snow was never fun.

Blessings,
Amy

Yay! Fun times. We had the museum to ourselves the other day, too. Ours was because so many schools had been cancelled because we had snow in the forcast. yes! Schools were cancelled here because there were some flurries! Ha! I'm sure people up north would flip here.
