For the past 4 days our life has been in fast gear. I can't even begin to tell you how much we have to get done before we leave. We still do not have confirmed travel dates, but we are acting like we are leaving next Saturday. The kicker is AGCI is closed this Friday because of July 4th. So I hope and pray we find out everything (confirmed travel AND TB tests results) on Thursday. My parents have to drive 18 hours to get here and I would like to give them as much time as possible to plain. I know they don't mind either way and we all knew that with the added TB step things were going to be more last minute, but still. It all is just getting too exciting!!
OK... onto the phone call.
My boys were in VBS last week. It was at a local church where a few of the families in our homeschool co-op go to. I usually have them attend two to three VBS's a year. It gives me a break and they get to sing, dance, learn, do crafts, and eat. All while learning more about Jesus!
I was picking up the boys at VBS on Friday. I was in the sanctuary with my friend Brooke (who adopted from India). We were waiting for them to finish their closing songs/announcements and my phone went off at 12:05p. When I saw it was Christy, I yelled to Brooke (it was very loud in there). At what age do we start hating loud, give you an instant headache, music? At 32 I am at that point. Anywho... I told Brooke who was calling and asked her to grab my boys for me. I ran out to find a quiet spot to answer to phone.
Me: Hello?!
Christy: Hi Tisha
Me: Hi Christy (very cautiously, not too sad/not too excited)
Christy: Well, I have some good news for you. (INSERT UNCONTROLLABLE CRYING FROM ME.) You passed court!
Me: Thank you! I am not sure how many times I said thank you. It was a lot. It was the only thing I could get out while crying like a mom who has been taken over with emotions during this whole adoption journey.
Keep in mind I am not the only one in the hallway. Everyone was staring at me. I kept trying to smile through my tears just to let these strangers know it was a happy cry, but I am not sure it worked. Oh well!
She went on to tell me about tentative travel. I was blown away. We need to be in Addis Ababa July 12th. Pending their TB tests, of course.
I also received their updated sizes on Friday and some updated information on them. I am not sure if I can post it, so I will just wait. But I am so excited to meet them. We believe the Lord has hand picked these girls for us and after reading about their personalities, they are going to fit in just fine!!!
Our agency does not want us posting pictures until we return from Africa. I also don't think we can post their Ethiopian names until then. I seriously can't even believe I just wrote this post about leaving for Ethiopia. This is really happening!!!!!
