January numbers...

I went away this weekend, so this is the first chance I have gotten to post our January numbers. I got a call from Julie (our case manager) on Friday. Our official number is STILL #13, but there is good news! She said on Friday that there have been 2 families on the sibling list (#1 and #2) that decided to accept a single child. Both families had been on the sibling list for a LONG time. So that puts us unofficially at #11. Today I found out that another family who was on both the sibling and singles list got a referral. So unofficially we are #10! YEAH!!!!

The reason that the numbers are unofficial is because families that received a referral have 10 days to accept the referral. They have time to pray and also meet with a doctor that specializes in international adoption. This doctor goes over the child's medical history and lets the family know what it exactly means.

Because the families hadn't officially accept the referral at the time of the phone call, our numbers didn't go down.

There still hasn't been a sibling referral, so that is a bummer. The good thing is there is movement and that has been our prayer!

Great attitude ... it's so easy to change the prayer request to something we *want* (eg: having actual sibling referrals handed out vs. moving up the list from other means).

Yeah, I thought about Jen who was just sibling as well ... can make one's head hurt. The unofficial list that Erin put together has us at #7 boys/#16 girls (which is really #15 because of Neely's referral). Whew, don't know what Amber and I will do when we're at #1 or #2...hopefully we won't stay there long! :)

I am glad to hear that you guys are moving up the list. I have not only been praying for you guys but the child/children you will be receiving as well. I am sure that it is quite frustating going through all this but I am also sure it will all work out in the end.
