First Snow of 2009

Today we got a small snow storm. We hardly had any snow last year, so this stormed was welcomed. Isaac and John couldn't wait to get outside. Josiah was not available for this photo shoot. He was done with the snow and cold by the time I was ready to take pictures and shovel. He is not a fan of extreme temperatures!

I loved growing up in Maine and doing all the winter outdoor things. I just realized yesterday that my boys didn't even know what a snowmobile was. I have also sparked their interested in ice fishing and skiing. They are begging me to take them to Maine during the winter. The whole winter...ha! I can't wait till we can make it happen, but probably not for the whole winter.

That's awesome ... ah, the days of snow angels...

No snow in TN but getting downright cold for here ... lower teens tonight and then lower single digits tomorrow night ... folks down here aren't used to it ... well, I've turned into a wuss too ... I left Chicago 6 years ago and my handling the cold has gone downhill quick...

I do miss the snow ... sometimes ... ok, back to trying to get my fire started with wet wood :(

Oh my goodness girl.... you can always come up to Michigan...we have plenty of COLD and snow. When I went out to start my car this morning, it was -9, and that doesn't include the wind chill.

Anyways, I'm glad that the boys are enjoying it while it lasts! It is a beautiful sight to see everything covered in a white glistening blanket.

Remember those days back at H.B. Emery? Bundling up in our snow suits and boots and heading out to recess to build forts and play king of the mountain? They seem forever ago...
