About two weeks ago my husband called to find out where I needed to go to vote. He was also requesting an absentee ballot since he would be in Georgia this week.
The woman told him that I was not registered to vote in Hendricks county (where we live now), but was still registered in Hamilton county (where we lived before). Because my license has my new address on it I will not be able to go back to Hamilton county to vote. We have lived in Hendricks county for 2 1/2 years now.
AND...
She also told him that it is too late to fix it.
UGH...
When we moved here I went to the BMV to get my new license. They asked me if I wanted to register to vote and I said YES and I even got paperwork from them (didn't keep it). I guess it never got processed.
After another call it was confirmed that I would not be able to vote in the 2008 elections... can you believe that?
I will be praying a lot today, because to be honest with you this election has me a little on edge.
