Not Mother of the Year...

I have been blogging about the boys being sick for some time now. I didn't take them to the Doctor because it seemed like it was just a virus and needed to run it course.

John was doing really well on Thursday, but when he woke up on Friday his fever was high again and he had a nasty cough. Josiah was very whinny on Thursday and Friday; I knew he wasn't getting better. When Josiah woke up from nap yesterday with a high fever and the look of death, I knew it was time to take them to the Dr. I took them to the urgent care here in town, since it was after hours. It is so much quicker and cheaper than going to the ER. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Are you ready for this? John has a sinus infection and Josiah has a double ear infection. What kind of mother am I to let my children suffer for so long? UGH! In my defense, I did ask Josiah many times if his ears hurt and each time he told me no. Poor kids!

I do have to give praise to God and be painfully honest with you all. We are on a pretty tight budget because we are trying to get out of debt by the end of this year. So I was stressing at how much this unexpected cost was going to be. I also knew if it set us back a little it would be fine because they needed to be seen. While I was getting the youngest two ready to go, my oldest got the mail for me. You'll never believe this because I didn't at first. We received a check for $82 for State Homestead Credit Rebate, something to do with property taxes. I am really not sure nor am I going to ask questions. We were not expecting this check and this money covered the co-pays and most of the medicine! PRAISE BE TO GOD!

So needless to say, I will not being waiting for the call to tell me that I have won Mother of the year. I have lost all chances of that award this time around!
